Embracing Vulnerabilty

Hi All, Pete here....We talk about it ALL THE TIME in our house.  The fact that life isn't meant to be lived carefully but rather with a willingness to go over the top in the name of Love and following your heart's passion.  Recently, I caught an interview with, Paulo Coelho,  the author of The Alchemist, who said, and I'm paraphrasing, "In the end the meaning for our entire lives comes down to one question, did you LOVE enough?"
For me, being vulnerable falls in the category of attempting to "love enough".  How?  Well, when I'm vulnerable I'm more attune to the immediate moment, I'm more present.  When I'm vulnerable I'm willing to ask others for help.  When I'm vulnerable I'm more authentically the person I want to be in the world rather than trying to be a certain type of person.  When I'm vulnerable my heart pushes the blood through my body unlike any other adrenaline rush I know.  When I'm vulnerable, I shatter my own limited expectations of what I can and can't do.  It's the times that I've been vulnerable that I look to as my own inspiration.  And recently, Life is giving me PLENTY of chances to test my willingness!!
In the end, "Loving enough" does not necessarily mean love directed at another person, but rather, love brought into the world through me.  Vulnerability allows me the opportunity to drop what I know about love and lets me BE an expression of love.
Here's a video of me assuming the "vulnerable pose"  Here is the first time I've ever played piano and sung at the piano live in a public concert, hope you enjoy.

PS This song will be featured on our upcoming CD!

Kickstarter

Kickstarter Video out!  For many months we've been working on creating a plan to bring our music to you and to introduce Anne and Pete Sibley to larger audience.  This campaign represents how we've moved from a "seat of our pants" approach to crafting our two-year plan.  A plan which will bring our music to radio, magazines, and possibly other larger exposure opportunities.
The Kickstarter offers us a chance to get folks involved before the album is completed.  This means helping support the project by either pre-ordering the CD or taking advantage of one of the other perks like a personalized song phone call.  It's a fun way for us to try to raise the remaining funds which will allow us to bring our music to a wider audience than ever before.  To bring our story to the world of how people are good!

Business and Growing

Well, after all this time, ten years, we've finally completed our business plan!  Believe it or not, Anne and Pete Sibley Music is about to become an LLC.  Also, we've recently brought on a manager, business manager and more.  It has been a spiritual adventure asking if we are brave enough to grow the business to grow the music's reach.  We're setting up for a fabulous couple of years ahead and glad you're here with us.  We'll be inviting fans to take part in our CD project soon, stay tuned.
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy these photos taken by studioholladay.com.  PEACE!

Anne: Gosh the heart keeps trying to get its desires up there on the list! My heart wants to continue singing and creating and gathering people together. My inspired action steps (I'm trying to practice those!) has walked me into two upcoming events: (see heart, I am listening!) a workshop/music experience in Colorado (where we haven't toured in a few years! gasp!) and a Women's gathering I'm leading at a friend's house around Mother's Day.  It's all based on the music but what a joy to connect and communicate with others on a deeper level. I love the phrase "thanks goodness" and I'm doing that right now.

Luckiest People...

So this week we began our latest full-length CD project at Happy Valley Studios in Santa Cruz, CA.  It was a fabulous first couple of days with nearly six songs tracked.  We're really loving the new songs and love co-producing with Keith Greeninger.  After finishing on Thursday we all wandered outside under the redwoods and felt like the luckiest people on the earth!  I took this selfie to capture the moment.  Peace.

Traveling with Friends

As Anne warms up, the wonderful trio, Red Molly, gets prepared for the show in Portland, OR.  Once again we received such great kindness and support while opening on the road for Red Molly in Oregon and Washington.
We took the kids with us and a rental minivan that had a DVD player.  (Yes, it was used several times during the trip.)  Overall, we traveled nearly 2000 miles.  Thanks to Red Molly for the opportunity to perform for their great audiences!  Thanks to all our friends, old and new, who took us in, fed us and cared for our kids.
It was fun to see snow again in the Cascades after almost two full winters of no snow in California.  We did stop to make a snowman and throw a few snowballs!
Our view from the hotel in Eugene met us with this great message written for all to see:  Peace on Earth.
