We're all connnected

While traveling up to San Francisco last month to play on KALW, we stopped in at Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto.  I went into the bathroom where I spotted this Ome Banjo Sticker.  Yeah Ome!!  I knew this was the place to get our guitar repaired!  Besides they were really helpful folks too.

Our session on KALW and with our host, Kevin Vance!

"I would gladly give away my things.."

Oh joy to the world! This beautiful Ocean, the view of Monterey Bay from our California home is a daily blessing. I can sit on the sofa with the guitar and the writing pad, gaze on the blue waters, hear the crashing waves and this is bliss.  I'm bursting to share these new songs with you and the quiet voice of patience reminds me the time will come. The more I release my grip on the thoughts of how exactly things should unfold the more I am in amazement that reality is more exciting than my plan ("remind me things always get better,
better than I can picture them in my mind"). Pete and I agree that we have come to a crossroads recently, and continuously choosing the path to our heart has brought us back into the flow of life, rapids and all!! We have new music for you, first it has been healing for us and now the bonus is to share it with you. "Here with you, I'm in harmony, and there's no better place, no brighter point of view". Let me live from my heart, I'll keep trying. (Photo by Pete, Sunset on Monterey Bay)

"We Choose Love"

We had the privilege of playing music in Sandy Hook, CT this past month.  There is a sense I felt within this community of connection.  The sense of connection was not talked about or posted for those visiting, other than the simple bumper stickers that read, "We are Sandy Hook.  We choose Love."  Even though emotions still sit right below the surface, the sense of "We choose Love" can be felt.  The question is, can we too have the courage to choose love?  The pictures below were taken in the Newtown United Methodist Church where we sang twice last month.  These are thousands of origami birds sent from Japan and represent prosperity.  They hang and lay everywhere inside the church.  "WE CHOOSE LOVE"

The Deep Breath

Seems like our appetite to bring joy to the world through our music is only growing. Getting closer to the start of school for our oldest daughter Leah, our gem of a spirit and it looks like our service as musicians is evolving and we’re hanging on for the ride. Lessons and singing groups during the week, then weekends filled with concerts and workshops. Next year we’re pumped to be looking at our first overseas touring.  Still, we promise that our strongest moments are the deep breath of the present moment. One note at a time (or two if we’re singing together : )

Happy Valley Sessions

We drove up to Happy Valley in Santa Cruz this May.  Pulling up the hill we saw what our friend, Keith Greeninger (pictured below), had called The Studio.  It was a beautiful wooden building tucked in the redwoods surrounded by gardens, flowers and the tall trees.  Keith had invited us, along with a few other musicians to come and record a few tunes with his friend, Cookie Marenco.  What transpired that morning was an amazing session.  Keith, an amazing musician and person, had brought together Cookie and her crew to record and his buddy Richard to film.  We've heard some of the recording and it is incredible!  We hope to get some of the session available to you soon and really would love to work with Cookie at the studio again real soon.

New Horizons

We're really excited about including a new aspect of our musical offerings.  Bringing music into the world in a host of different avenues:  workshops and other events.  Last week we played for our favorite berry producing company, Driscoll's.  We shared our songs, stories and experiences of living outside of our comfort zones.  Hope to bring an event to your neck of the woods soon!

A Time to Ramble

Pete had the chance to reunite with his Jackson, Wyoming trio, The King Street Ramblers.  The cards fell into place and the Ramblers were able to gather for four shows in Central Cali.  We had some fantastic hosts for house concerts and just got crazy for a few nights.  Check out the video Tim made of the tour!

Harmonic color with Red Molly

We seek connection.  With some it's effortless, like our opportunity to share some dates with Red Molly (http://www.redmolly.com/).  What a gift of music making, late night snacking and beauty tips (even Pete was invited to add his thoughts...)
Here's a video taken in Felton, CA of everyone singing along on Anne's song, Just the Right Moment.
